Thrifted Assemblages is an ongoing series of analog and digital collages interrogating 1950s, 60‘s, and 70’s media. By examining photos and works depicted in vintage magazines, such as The Ring, needlework periodicals, and National Geographic, I explore the ways a photograph can be decontextualized and recontextualized, and the potential meaning of images through digital manipulation and (extra)textual modalities.
